Forgotten Winger Completes Overnight Celtic Loan Exit
Celtic fans went to sleep content on Thursday evening content amid news that Adam Idah looked set to sign for the Hoops permanently.
The Irishman is forcing through a return to Glasgow following a hugely impactful loan spell.
His arrival will coincide with the departure of Oh Hyeon-gyu, but another fringe player who is leaving the club is Marco Tilio.
The winger’s first year in Glasgow was in no way ideal. Signed from Melbourne City for 1.75m euros (Transfermarkt) last summer, he managed to make just two cameos for the Bhoys in 2023/24.
His campaign was ravaged by injury and even after he returned to City on loan for the second half of the season, he still couldn’t find consistent playing time.
Going forward, however, the 22-year-old will look to rediscover his form that earned him his dream move to Celtic having rejoined Melbourne on loan for the 2024/25 season.
The deal was announced late last night, with no buy option included:

Perhaps it would have been more beneficial for Tilio to be loaned out to a team within Scotland rather than head back to Australia, especially after Brendan Rodgers openly admitted he struggled with the transition to the Premiership and its physicality.
Nevertheless, a solid 12 months of consistency and prosperous form back home could prompt Tilio to finally make an impact at Celtic next year.
