Valle, a product of Barcelona’s esteemed La Masia academy, has developed through the ranks, joining the club a decade ago and making his way to Barcelona B in 2022. Last season, he gained valuable experience on loan at Levante in Spain’s second division.

This year, Valle was part of Barcelona’s first-team squad, appearing on the bench for the initial La Liga matches of the season.

His potential and performances have not gone unnoticed, earning praise from Barcelona supporters who seem disappointed that he’s heading out on loan again.

Prior to his departure for Celtic, Valle renewed his Barcelona contract, extending his contract until the summer of 2026.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers expressed enthusiasm about the new number 11, highlighting Valle’s Footballing pedigree and the skills he brings to the team.

“We’re delighted to have landed Alex on this season-long loan as we continue to strengthen the squad for the season ahead,” Rodgers told Celtic TV.

“His Footballing style will complement our attacking play as well as giving us more options in our backline.

“Alex has been brought up in a real high-quality Footballing environment learning all the good habits and skills associated with any top team. He is a player with some tremendous attributes.

“He has performed really well for Levante last season, been around Barcelona’s first team this year already and he is a welcome and quality addition to our squad.”

With Celtic covering 100% of the player’s wages, the hope is that he’ll challenge Greg Taylor for the starting spot.
