Award Winning Greek Restaurant To Close New Fishkill Location

The silver lining to this particular closure is that there will still be two Hudson Valley-based locations for hungry locals to get their Greek food fix. The unfortunate news, is that their newly opened Fishkill location will close for good, effective Sunday October 20th.

Athena Gyro's Fishkill History

In late February of 2022, Athena Gyro officially expanded from their LaGrangeville restaurant into a second location in the village of Fishkill. Taking over at the former site of Il Barilotto, which closed in 2020, Athena Gyro received a warm welcome to Fishkill.

A public announcement went out this past June indicating that the building/restaurant where Athena operates out of in Fishkill was for sale. An 'active' listing on Coldwell Banker described the location as a 'turn-key Business! Fantastic opportunity to own and operate your own restaurant and bar on Fishkill's Main Street.' With an asking price of $325,000, the sale would include a 'beautiful new kitchen with equipment plenty of storage and prep space.

Sadly, a sale appears to have gone through, as Athena Gyro made their official announcement on Thursday October 17th that Sunday October 20th would be their final day of Business...

Athena Gyro Fishkill has been sold.
Our last day will be on Sunday at 8:30 p.m.
We have really enjoyed being involved in this community for the past 2.5 years and have met wonderful people.
We want to thank you for supporting us.
Please continue to visit us at our LaGrangeville location on Route 55 as well as our new location in Poughkeepsie opening in a few months in Eastdale Village.
All gift cards issued at the Fishkill location will be honored at the Lagrangeville restaurant after Sunday.

Although Fishkill may be closing, earlier in October, Greek-loving foodies in the Hudson Valley were thrilled to learn that Athena Gyro would soon be creating an Eastdale Village home with the addition of Athena 2 Go. Soon to open at the Reconnect building in Cottage Square, Eastdale, Athena 2 Go will offer 'quick and easy authentic Greek takeout options.'
