Brendan Rodgers has sidestepped questions about Adam Idah’s potential return to Celtic following his successful loan spell, amid rumours of ongoing negotiations for the striker.

Idah, who returned to Norwich after a six-month stint at Celtic, reportedly wants a permanent move back to Glasgow, with advanced talks purportedly in place.

After Celtic’s pre-season draw with Ayr, when pressed about the situation, Rodgers maintained a diplomatic stance, emphasizing respect for the player’s current contract with Norwich.

“Adam’s a Norwich player so I’m not in the mood to be talking about other players at other clubs,” Rodgers said, as quoted by the Scotsman.

“But he’s a player that came in here, did exceptionally well, and we’ll see what happens.

“As soon as any players come in, you guys will be the first to know about it. Until then, there’s just a lot of work going on behind the scenes. There’s lots of time. Of course, we would want to get them in sooner rather than later. But it’s always a two-way thing, so hopefully we can get them done in the coming weeks.”

He scored some big goals for the Hoops last season, and won Celticv the double, scoring in the last minute of the Scottish Cup final.

He scored some big goals late on in the league too, with Brendan Rodgers describing him as a catalyst for the team’s double success last season.

Bringing him back would be massive for Celtic. He thrived in the six-month spell he had last season, and after a pre-season with Brendan Rodgers, he could reach the next level.
