Celtic’s 2-2 draw with Aberdeen at Celtic Park on Saturday kept the title race intriguing, but it’s Rangers who continue to slip further out of contention. Despite holding a two-goal lead, Celtic were pegged back by a determined Aberdeen side that refuses to let the Hoops shake them off at the top of the table.

The result left the door open for Rangers to make up ground on both Celtic and Aberdeen as they Travelled to Kilmarnock on Sunday. However, they failed spectacularly, falling 1-0 in what can only be described as a horror show for Philippe Clement’s side.

Rangers arrived at Rugby Park knowing a win would bring them within three points of the top two, but a disjointed performance saw them leave Ayrshire empty-handed. Kilmarnock struck the only goal of the Game, and while Rangers had plenty of possession, they struggled to create anything meaningful, managing just three shots on target—the same as their hosts.

This defeat now leaves Rangers six points adrift of both Celtic and Aberdeen, piling more pressure on Clement, whose side is rapidly falling out of the title race.

For Celtic, the weekend was a mixed affair. Dropping two points at home after being in control will frustrate Brendan Rodgers, but with Rangers failing to capitalise, the bigger threat to their title hopes now appears to come from Aberdeen. After eight Games, the Dons are sticking close, and the title race is beginning to take shape. As it stands, Rangers are simply not in it.
