WATCH: Kylian Mbappe marks Real Madrid debut with superb goal in UEFA Super Cup vs. Atalanta
Kylian Mbappe made his Real Madrid debut in style, scoring in the second half of the team's 2-0 win UEFA Super Cup win over Atalanta at Warsaw's Kazimierz Gorski National Stadium on Wednesday.
The play began when Vinicius Junior played a pass across the goal line from one side of the box to the other, where Jude Bellingham was making a run. He then worked his way around an Atalanta defender before finding some space to send the ball to Mbappe, who was making a run into the center of the penalty area. Mbappe then wasted little time taking the shot, sending the ball into the top right corner for his very first goal in a Real Madrid shirt.

Carlo Ancelotti inserted Mbappe into a star-studded lineup for the clash between the reigning winners of the Champions League and Europa League, allowing the new signing to play alongside the likes of Bellingham, Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo in his very first Game for the club. It was a strong first Game of the season for many, including Vinicius Junior, who assisted Federico Valverde's opening goal in the 59th minute.
The Super Cup got off to a slow start with just five shots between the two teams in the first half, none on target. Mbappe did not have much of an impact before the break with just one shot, but had 23 touches and completed 13 of his 15 passes as Real Madrid searched for the game's opening goal. Things improved in the second half as Los Blancos' attack came to life, taking 10 shots in the second 45 and putting six of them on frame. Though Atalanta kept things fairly even in possession, Real Madrid ultimately outshot the opposition 13 to seven and posted 2.24 expected goals, much better than Atalanta's 0.63 and living up to their obvious attacking potential.
Mbappe went on to play 83 minutes in his Real Madrid debut, taking three shots and putting one on frame during his shift.
Real Madrid lifted their sixth Super Cup in Warsaw on Wednesday, leapfrogging longtime rivals Barcelona to become the most successful team in the comPetition's History.
