How much prize money did Jeeno Thitikul win at the 2024 CME Group Tour Championship
The 2024 LPGA Tour season is officially over, with Thailandâs Jeeno Thitikul coming out on top in the CME Group Tour Championship, the final event at TiburĂłn Golf Club in Naples, Florida.
Thitikul, who went into the final round tied at the top with Angel Yin, shot a 7-under 65 on Sunday to clinch the title by one shot from her playing partner, helped by an eagle-birdie finish. The victory was Thitikulâs second of the season and 16th as a professional.
World No. 1 Nelly Korda, who won seven events in 2024 alone, was unable to repeat her victory at last weekâs The Annika, finishing in a tie for fifth, seven shots back.
Thitikulâs triumph means she will receive a greater financial reward for one tournament than any other female player in History. Although there was a bigger overall purse at the 2024 US Open ($12 million) this past June, Thitikul will take home $4 million of the $11 million on offer to the entire field, the largest ever first-place payout ever in womenâs Golf.
When does the 2025 LPGA Tour season begin?
With the 2024 season now over, the majority of the worldâs top stars will enjoy some time off over Christmas and New Year, with the 2025 LPGA Tour officially beginning on January 30, 2025 with the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions at Lake Nona Golf & Country Club in Orlando, Florida.
That event is only for winners of LPGA tournaments in the previous two seasons, with the first full-field competition taking place the following week (February 6-9) in the Founders Cup at Bradenton Country Club, also in Florida.
A dozen players will also feature in the Grant Thornton Invitational in mid-December, which features 12 teams made up of one LPGA player with a PGA counterpart. Rose Zhang, Lilia Vu and Megan Khang are among those who will play in this yearâs tournament, which also takes place at TiburĂłn Golf Club.
Next year, there will be a record $131 million in tournament prize money on offer on the LPGA Tour, a 90% increase on what players were competing for in 2021. In total, there will be 16 tournaments with a prize purse of at least $3 million.
