Rafael Nadal Officially Announces Retirement from Tennis
Rafael Nadal has officially announced his retirement from the sport of Tennis.
At 38, the former no.1 Tennis star from Manacor left a heartfelt message to his fans on Instagram. Citing the inability to play without limitation as one of the defining factors for his retirement, Nadal spent some time away in 2023 due to a hip injury that moved him off the top 100 list, a list that he had previously been on for 20 consecutive years.

Recognised as one of the Big Three in tennis (Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, and Rafael Nadal), Nadal holds 22 Grand Slam titles, two Olympic gold medals, 92 ATP Tour titles, and spent 209 weeks as world number one.
With his official announcement, Nadal declared that his last professional comPetition would be at this year’s Davis Cup finals in Malaga. This is a fitting final tournament as not only will the “King of Clay” be playing in his home country but Nadal himself is the holder of four Davis Cup wins, and it would be an amazing send off.
Taking place from November 19 to 26, this historic finals has already drawn the attention of Tennis fans from all over the world as tickets to see Nadal play his final match are reselling as high as €20,000.
