Mother Nature may not be giving us any much-needed rain but the colder temperatures have led to some winter fun happening a bit early in the Hudson Valley. It hasn't rained but we have Snow!

When the temperatures dropped last week the only thing on my mind was how fast I could close up the crawl space at my house. Cold draft means cold pipes. Of course, cold air also means that ski slopes can make snow.

Some Hudson Valley Ski Slopes Open Before Thanksgiving

Last week multiple Hudson Valley Ski Slopes were able to take advantage of the colder temperatures and start snow-making. A handful have been able to make enough snow that they were able to welcome skiers and boarders for downhill fun this past weekend.

Bellayre Mountain made sure people knew they were going to be open this past weekend by posting this reel on Facebook.

Bellayre wasn't the only place that was excited about posting early snow pictures. Mount Peter posted a photo of snow that they made plus they also shared that the new Technology they are using allows them to do it when it is 50 degrees outside.

Many area ski slopes will be up and running before you know it. One ski slope spent the summer making improvements and putting in a new lift is Holiday Mountain Ski & Fun Park. They are just about ready to debut their new lift and get the season started.
