Former Celtic starlet Vincent Angelini has completed a bizarre transfer to Saudi Arabia.

The goalkeeper came through the ranks at the Hoops before making the switch to Watford at just 17. After only 18 months at Vicarage Road, though, Angelini then joined Brentford but is now on the move again.

Indeed, he has recently put pen to paper on a two-year deal with Saudi Pro League side Al-Riyadh:

While moving to the Middle East isn’t extraordinary in Football nowadays, seeing a player as young as Angelini head out to Saudi is relatively surprising.

Still just 20, he has plenty of room for growth and hopefully, he can get regular Games and live up to his potential with his new team.

Grandson of Celtic great Davie Hay, Football runs in Angelini’s blood.

Now, he will want to make an impact with Al-Riyadh after two moves in England that didn’t work out.

The Scotland under-21 internationalist’s new side finished 14th in the Saudi Pro-League last term, shipping 57 goals across 34 Games throughout the season.

They signed 36-year-old Milan Borjan from Slovan Bratislava earlier in the summer, but Angelini will look to break into the team and get some regular Games under his belt.

The ex-Celt is yet to make his senior debut, but hopefully, he can break into the Al-Riyadh starting eleven after an eyebrow-raising switch.
