The Washington Nationals and the Pittsburgh Pirates meet Sunday in MLB action from PNC Park. Here’s a Pittsburgh Pirates vs Washington Nationals prediction. This will be the final installment in a four-Game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Pirates vs Nationals pick.

Washington Nationals Betting Preview

Washington played a couple of Games versus the Miami Marlins this week, resulting in a split. The Nats took a loss to Pittsburgh 9-4 in the opener of their series. In the Saturday Game one Washington powered out the win 5-3. In the nightcap the Nationals bagged another win, this time 8-6.

For the Sunday finale the Nationals will go with Patrick Corbin. So far Corbin is 5-12 with a 5.41 ERA in 28 starts. Corbin is 102-130 with a 4.48 ERA in 338 career Games (320 starts).

Pittsburgh Pirates Betting Preview

Over on the Pirates’ side, they played the Chicago Cubs in their last series, winning two of three games. In Saturday’s game one the Pirates gave up seven hits in the loss. In game two Pittsburgh was out-hit 13-11 and blew an early 3-0 lead.

It’ll be Pittsburgh’s Jared Jones as starter for the Sunday finale. This year in the first 18 starts of his career Jones is 5-7 with a 3.91 ERA.

Pittsburgh Pirates vs Washington Nationals Prediction

I’m going to try the Nationals. Corbin is doing well these days. In his last three starts combined, Corbin is 3-0 with just three earned runs in 17.2 innings total. As for Jones, he’s given up eight earned in 10.1 innings over his last two starts, going 0-1.

In the Saturday Game one the Nationals did pretty well, jumping out to a 4-0 lead and hanging on for the win. In the nightcap Washington kept the pressure up at the plate and came away with a nice offensive outing. I think the Nats can keep it going in the finale.
