Massive England decision that will anger Arsenal and divide fans informed by Southgate that he “can’t ignore”
Some believe that Gareth Southgate should choose Cole Palmer over Bukayo Saka for England’s summer roster, which would annoy Mikel Arteta and Arsenal.
Last summer, Palmer departed Manchester City for Chelsea, a ‘Big Six’ opponent, in a £42.5 million transfer. The attacker chose to depart from City despite Pep Guardiola’s requests that he stay so he could establish himself as a starter elsewhere.
Palmer and Chelsea have benefited greatly from the transfer. Despite spending a ton of money on other players, the Englishman has emerged as Chelsea’s most valuable star and creative force.

With an astounding 26 goals and 13 assists in 45 Games, Palmer has been unstoppable, netting 21 goals in 31 Premier League appearances.
Palmer is still young, at 22 years old, so he has plenty of time to improve upon those already remarkable numbers.
The Manchester-born playmaker has also established himself in Gareth Southgate’s England setup, earning caps for his country in matches against North Macedonia and Malta. This summer, Southgate will have a tough choice between two dangerous right wingers in Palmer and Saka.
Even though Palmer will give Saka a run for his money, Saka has had a fantastic season with 20 goals and 14 assists in 46 Games.
Is Cole Palmer going to fire Bukayo Saka from Arsenal?Even though Saka has more international experience than Palmer, Michael Owen—who played 89 times for England from 1998 to 2008—thinks Southgate should choose Palmer.
A move like this would divide England fans and anger Arsenal manager Arteta.
If I were the pundit, I’d start Cole Palmer instead of Bukayo Saka. At this point, I don’t think Palmer’s form and quality can be disregarded.
Although he was on my team a while back, he is now widely considered to be among the Premier League’s top players. On a losing squad, he may win player of the year and even the Golden Boot.
I consider him an absolute necessity now. As for where he should play, I’d put him on the right side. In my ideal formation, he and Foden would play side by side with him in the middle, with Rice as the only number 6, Bellingham and Foden as the eights and tens, and Cole on the right.
