Taylor Swift Themed Parties and Events in Singapore and Around the World
Ever since Taylor Swift began her Eras tour last year, it has become a massive phenomenon. From selling out massive arenas within minutes, to crashing Ticketmaster upon just the presale in the US, the Eras Tour made headlines right from the start. As the pop princess became the flavour of the season wherever she performed, Swifties in Singapore and everywhere else found new ways to enjoy her music by organising Taylor Swift themed parties and other events.
Ahead of the singer’s six upcoming concerts here this March, there are several events being planned to keep up Swiftie mania. It was recently announced that Jewel Changi Airport will be hosting a special sing-along event for fans on March 1, one day before Swift kicks off her National Stadium gigs from March 2 to 9.
Singapore is one of only two stops in Asia for the singers’ Eras Tour. Prior to her Singapore tour, she performed in Tokyo in February. With the other Asian countries left out of the tour, Swifties from these regions have a chance to experience the Eras tour at home as the streaming release date for the concert film was announced recently. It will be streaming on Disney+ from March 15.
While the steep ticket prices — and difficulty in even procuring tickets from the sales — for the tours have hindered some Swifties from witnessing her mesmerising performances in reality, these haven’t stopped them from hosting sing-along nights, dance parties and trivia nights, all celebrating Taylor Swift in unique ways. In fact, there’s even a cruise centred on the pop star’s cultural impact and discography.
Taylor Swift themed parties and events in Singapore and around the world
The Eras Tour light and water show, retail pop-up and more
Where: Marina Bay Sands, Singapore
Taylor Swift’s first Eras tour concert takes place at Singapore’s National Stadium on March 2 and ahead of the same Marina Bay Sands is hosting several Swift-themed events for fans. Instagram-worthy zones have been created for Swifties to immerse themselves in. The Eras Tour Trail, celebrating the pop star’s musical journey, will be spread across seven zones located at selected parts of The Shoppes and Sands Expo & Convention Centre.
Another event that is expected to dazzle Swift’s fans is a 14-minute light and water show set to the singer’s iconic hits. The spectacle will include Eras Tour-inspired dancing fountain jets with colourful visual projections. The lasers and light effects will be synchronised to Swift’s Cruel Summer, You Belong With Me (Taylor’s Version), Shake It Off (Taylor’s Version) and Style (Taylor’s Version). The event will take place from February 28 to March 7 at 8 and 9 PM.
A retail pop-up will also be hosted at Marina Bay Sands for fans to check out mementos and grab official concert merchandise including apparel and vinyls. The pop-up will be available from February 28 to March 9. Details regarding the timings and more are available here.
As Singapore gears up to get drenched in the Swift spirit, the iconic facade and waterfront of the MBS structure will light up into a dazzling display of colours of Swift’s ‘eras.’
A sing-along session of Taylor’s hits
Where: Singapore
As the news of Taylor Swift’s arrival in Singapore on February 27 ahead of her concert has hit the news, Swifties are even more excited and looking forward to celebrate the singer in some pre-concert events. A sing-along session of her songs led by local band On The Rox has been organised at the iconic hawker market Lau Pa Sat. The event will be open to public and will take place on March 8 from 7.30 PM – 9.30 PM.
The retail shop at Lau Pa Sat will also offer handmade Taylor-themed friendship bracelets, and Taylor-inspired fedora hats from March 1 to 9.
Taylor-gating picnics
Where: Worldwide
Leave it to Swifties to come up with creative ideas on how to celebrate their icon. The concept of “Taylor-gating” ( a quirky spin to ‘tailgating’) was introduced by those who were unable to grab tickets to her shows. Fans have been known to hold their own listening parties outside of stadiums and in the parking lots of the venues. It all started in April last year, when a TikToker shared a video from one of Swift’s shows in Tampa saying that fans could see and hear everything for free while sitting on a picnic blanket outside.
The trending TikTok video then led to other fans coming together for Taylor-gating picnics. Dressed in sequins and representing their favourite eras by sporting DIY outfits, fans camped outside venues with cosy blankets. Some Swifties also hosted sing-along parties in parking lots.
Expect a similar scene to take place at the National Stadium, with throngs of Swifties who didn’t manage to snag tickets gathering outside to listen to the music from Swift’s concert. At Coldplay and Ed Sheeran’s recent sold-out gigs in Singapore, fans arrived in droves to do the same outside the stadium.

- 22 ml St Germain Elderflower Liqueur
