When he has been healthy, Christian Watson has been an absolute force within this Packers offense. The problem is he simply hasn’t been healthy all that much over his first couple of seasons in the NFL. Despite dealing with a nagging hamstring injury a season ago, Watson still managed to haul in 5 touchdowns and was a matchup problem for opposing secondaries with his elite speed. The third-year wide receiver has tremendous explosive play ability and should succeed in a matchup against an Eagles secondary that looks to be improved on paper, but is banged up heading into this season-opening game. Jahan Dotson’s trade to the Eagles was one that raised a lot of eyebrows, especially since he was being sent from a team within the NFC East. Reports of a terrible training camp in Washington have come and gone, and now it appears that the former Penn State wide receiver is going to have a legitimate role in this offense. According to Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore, Watson has made a very positive impression on the coaching staff and is expected to be “heavily involved” within Philadelphia’s offense this upcoming season. That quote alone gives this anytime touchdown scorer price a bit of value in my book. Yes, it’ll be his first Game with a new team, but this Eagles group has a ton of impact players and the Packers will undoubtedly have to focus on the likes of Saquon Barkley, A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. That’ll free up targets for Dotson, particularly in the red zone when so much of the focus will be on the Philadelphia ground Game. At +600, this wager is worth a sprinkle.
