The Atlanta Braves and the New York Yankees meet Friday in MLB action from Yankee Stadium. Here’s a NY Yankees vs Atlanta Braves Prediction. This will be the first installment in a three-Game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for the Game.

Atlanta Braves Betting Preview

The Braves are coming off a series versus the Detroit Tigers this week. Atlanta did well in that set, taking wins 2-1, 2-1 and 7-0 for a three-Game sweep. In the shutout win Wednesday, the Braves got two homers, four hits, three runs and four RBI from Sean Murphy in a stellar outing.

In the starter slot for the Friday matchup the Braves will send out Chris Sale. This season Sale is 9-2 with a 2.98 ERA in 13 starts. He’s got 99 Ks in 81.2 innings. Sale is 129-82 with a 3.10 ERA in 356 career Games (276 starts).

New York Yankees Betting Preview

Over on the Yankees’ side, they played the rival Baltimore Orioles this week. New York won 4-2 in the opener of that set, then fell 7-6 on Wednesday. In the rubber match finale on Thursday, New York was blown out in a 17-5 defeat. Luis Gil gave up seven earned on eight hits and two walks in 1.1 innings.

As starter for Friday’s Game, the Yankees are going with Carlos Rodon. This year Rodon is 9-3 with a 3.28 ERA and 81 Ks in 85.0 innings over 15 starts. Rodon is 68-57 with a 3.78 ERA in 181 career Games (176 starts).

NY Yankees vs Atlanta Braves Prediction

I might take a stab on the Braves here. Sale had a rough outing to kick off June, going 4.0 innings with eight earned on nine hits and a walk in a no-decision versus the A’s. In his two starts since then however, Sale is 1-1 with 14.0 innings and four earned on 10 hits and three walks. Meanwhile, Rodon is coming off five earned in 5.0 innings in a loss versus Boston but he was pitching well before then.

As for New York, on Thursday they got into trouble early and never really got out of it. The Yankees coughed up 19 hits and committed three errors in the embarrassing home showing. Atlanta should have a good shot here.
