“Nowhere Near it” – Pundit Rages at Celtic Duo
Veteran pundit Hugh Keevins has slammed the abilities of wingers Luis Palma and Hyunjun Yang after their uninspiring starts in Celtic’s 2-0 win over Dundee on Wednesday night.
Both players were given the nod in the lineup on Wednesday night—Yang making his first start of the season and Palma his first in the league. However, Keevins believes they fell short of the standard expected at Celtic, particularly when compared to teaMMAtes Nicolas Kuhn and Daizen Maeda.
On Clyde1 Superscoreboard, Keevins made his opinion clear: “He (Yang) isn’t up to playing for Celtic, I am sorry.
“And neither is Palma. When you see Nicolas Kuhn, and Maeda and the contributions they make. “Yang and Luis Palma are not at that level. Nowhere near it.”
Kuhn, who was sidelined with a hip injury, is expected to return for the League Cup semi-final against Aberdeen, while Maeda, who was given a rest, came on in the second half against Dundee to add some extra energy to Celtic’s attack.
Palma and Yang’s lacklustre displays show a need for more depth to be added on the wings.
While both have had limited opportunities, they’ve failed to impress this season.
There’s probably a case for Yang to head out on loan and develop that way, but patience is running thin with Palma, and it might be best for him to find a permanent move away. There is quality there, but he just can’t crack it at Celtic.
