Achraf Hakimi leads Morocco to another semi-final
Morocco broke new ground at the World Cup in 2022, reaching the semi-final for the first time in their history. They've made it to the final four again at the Olympics, securing passage to the semi-final with victory over Team USA.
Paris Saint-Germain defender Achraf Hakimi was playing at his home stadium (Parc des Princes) for Friday's Game and showed his quality. He scored the decisive third goal with an incisive solo run.

Full time: Morocco 4-0 Team USA
Morocco progress to the semi-finals of the Olympic Games with a comprehensive four-goal victory over the United States in Paris. A great performance from the Moroccans, who look like real contenders for the gold medal.
Team USA continue to push for a goal. Tanner Tessman makes space for a shot on the edge of the box but his right-footed effort flies wide of the target. Goal kick Morocco.
Tough luck for Team USA - Nathan Harriel, in particular - but Morocco have been significantly better today. The four-goal deficit is perhaps a little harsh, but there can be no doubts about the quality of this Morocco team.
GOOOOAAAAAAAAL! El Mehdi Maouhoub
Substitute El Mehdi Maouhoub steps up and smashes the penalty kick past Schulte.
It's 4-0 to Morocco, Team USA are heading home.
We're going to have five minutes of added time.
Decision - Penalty kick
It's a spot kick. The second against Nathan Harriel this afternoon. Very harsh.
VAR - Potential penalty kick
A shot from Chakkour smashes Harriel on the hand in the penalty box. The referee is checking for a penalty kick for hand ball.
It would be extremely harsh...
Another powerful run forward down the right from Hakimi. He reaches the byline and cuts inside to pull the ball back to a teammate.
Zimmerman intercepts, corner kick to Morocco.
The Morocco fans in attendance - and there's plenty of them - are cheering every pass as their team knock the ball around coolly in midfield. Morocco are in cruise control now.
Good pressing from Morocco to win the ball back off Caleb Wiley in the US half. They recover and play the ball around neatly, taking the sting out of the game.
Team USA are enjoying a good amount of the ball now but Morocco are keeping them at bay. Reducing their attacking intent to long balls forward and hopeful crosses.
And now a triple change for Morocco. Kechta, Maouhoub and Bouchouari come on. Targhalline, Rahimi and Richardson come off.
A spate of subs now. Benjamin Cremaschi and Caleb Wiley come on for USMNT, replacing Aaronson and Tolkin.
Josh Atencio tries to clip a ball forward towards Duncan McGuire but he cant' latch onto the pass. The ball bounces out for a Morocco goal kick.
Good defending from El Ouahdi to track Booth and stop the USMNT forward in his tracks. He's been really good all game, the Moroccan full-back.
Paxten Aaronson
The USMNT forward is booked for a late challenge in the midfield. A hint of frustration there.
Brilliant move from Morocco, tearing through the US and finding Ben Seghir in the box. He makes space for a shot but Schulte saves comfortably.
Another Team USA change. Josh Atencio replaces Jack McGlynn.
Hakimi won the ball on the halfway line and simply ran in a straight line towards the US goal. Tolkin came out to press him on the edge of the box but the PSG man simply slid the ball into the bottom corner.
GOOOOOOOAAAAAL! Achraf Hakimi
Stunning individual goal from the Morocco captain! He strolls through the middle of midfield and slots the ball coolly past Schulte.
That could well be that.
The US have not been cowed by that second goal and continue to push. With the pace of Booth and a physical presence like McGuire up front, we could see them go more direct in the final stages.
Double change now for Team USA. Taylor Booth and Duncan McGuire come on for Mihailovic and Yow.
VAR check - GOAL!
After a brief VAR check, the goal is indeed awarded.
El Khannous slid the ball through to Adbe on the left flank and he tore down the left flank, squaring the ball for Chakkour in the middle. Brilliantly worked goal.
GOOOOOAAAAAAAL! Ilias Chahkour
Morocco take a two-goal lead with a brilliant free-flowing attack move. This is a massive job for Team USA now.
Poor pass from Tessman allows Morocco to break and Rahimi sprints through on goal behind the US defence. Just as he's about to enter the box Walker Zimmerman flies in with a perfectly-timed sliding tackle. Brilliant stuff from Zimmerman.
Big chance for Miles Robinson!
The first cross is repelled but USA work it back into the middle, where it lands at the feet of Miles Robinson.
The Cincinnati defender has space for a shot but his tentative effort bounces wide of the post. Big chance!
Positive work from Team USA as John Tolkin wins a corner kick on the left.
Munir Mohamedi is back on his feet and the game resumes. Ten minutes played in the second half now.
Munir Mohamedi (Morocco)
Concern for the Moroccan goalkeeper as he stays down after colliding with a teammate in the box.
Griffin Yow tries an acrobatic volley at the back post but it's blocked by a recovering defender. It's out for a USMNT throw-in but Morocco win it back and clear.
Brilliant footwork from Kevin Paredes on the touchline to spin past El Ouahdi. Mitrovic wants a yellow card for the Moroccan defender but the referee says no.

The corner kick is swung towards Tanner Tessman at the back post. He connects well but can't get any power on the effort.
Paredes finds Aaronson on the edge of the box. He takes aim but his 20-yard shot is blocked and deflected wide for a corner kick.
Brave play from USMNT to work the ball out of defence. They are already enjoying a a greater share of the ball than at any point in the first half.
It's an end-to-end start as Team USA look to press high up the field from the off. Morocco manage to play through the press and force a corner kick at the other end.
Second half underway!
Can the US mount a second half turnaround? Let's see what they can muster.
And we're back!

Team USA goalkeeper Patrick Schulte is the first player to emerge for the second half.
Morocco benefit from soft penalty decision
Nathan Harriel has had a tough first half at Parc des Princes, exemplified by the penalty kick awarded to Morocco. Harriel was a fraction too late with a challenge in the box and was penalised, giving Morroco's Soufiane Rahimi a golden chance to open the scoring.
Tough opening 45 minutes for Team USA
Morocco's senior team made it to the semi-finals of the World Cup in 2022 and they are showing their class again at Parc des Princes. Led by PSG star Achraf Hakimi, Morocco have really taken the game to the US team and are good value for their 1-0 halftime lead.
Peep peeeep peeeeeeeeep
That's all from the first half at Parc des Princes. The United States have been outplayed, but they're still in this game.
It's El Azzouzi who steps up to take it but blasts the ball well over the crossbar. Poor effort.
Brilliant driving run from Achraf Hakimi, straight through the heart of this Team USA midfield. He's felled on the edge of the box, winning his team a free kick.
It's about 25 yards from goal, slightly to the left. This is a perfect spot for Hakimi to strike at goal...
There's a chance for Paredes to take on El Ouadhi but he's muscled off the ball near the corner flag. A decent opening goes begging for the US.
Can Team USA find a late leveller in the first half? It doesn't look like it, and Morocco look like the more likely candidate to force another chance.
Marko Mitrovic would probably take a 1-0 deficit at the break, based on this first half showing.
We're going to have five minutes of added time at Parc des Princes.
Finally a chance for Team USA to break as John Tolkin drives forward from left-back. For a second it looks like a counter-attack is on but the move breaks down and Morocco reclaim the ball.
Morocco's confidence on the ball is robbing the US of one of their biggest strengths, the ability to press opposition defences. It garnered a number of good chances in the previous game against Guinea but they are being played around by the technically superior Moroccans.
Neat interplay on the right from Chahkour and Hakimi, tearing down the flank. Morocco can't quite make space for a shot in the box but it's more dangerous play, movement that is causing the United States problems.
Another poor delivery from Achraf Hakimi, who blasts the ball harmlessly out for a goal kick.
Nathan Harriel is struggling with El Azzouzi on the flank and the Moroccan full back picks up a cheap free kick near the corner flag.
It's a good crossing position from the left, a nice angle for the right boot of Hakimi..
Team USA defend the corner well and manage to punt the ball up-field. There's no one there to hold it up and Morocco win it back.
They work it through to Ilias Chahkour in the box. He tries to square the ball but it's blocked, resulting in another Morocco corner.
Morocco are tightening their grip on this game now, enjoying a good spell of possession in the US half.
Team USA win it back but a poor pass from Mihailovic hands it straight back to Morocco. They build another attack.
The game is temporarily halted after a heavy challenge from Zimmerman on Rahimi. No foul, but that was a full-blooded challenge from the Nashville defender.
Morocco strike first in Paris
Team USA find themselves behind to a first half penalty from Morocco in this Olympics quarter-final.
Brilliant penalty from Soufianne Rahimi under considerable pressure. He's had six attempts on goal during this tournament, and now has five goals to his name.
He's a man on form in Paris.
GOOOOOOAAAAAAALLL! Soufianne Rahimi
The Moroccan striker tucks the ball just inside the post and Morocco lead. Their support goes wild behind the goal!
VAR - Penalty
There we are, confirmation of the spot kick for Morocco.
Can Patrick Schulte be a hero for the US?
VAR - Checking penalty decision
That decision will be subject to a VAR check. There was some contact between Rahimi and Harriel in the box, but it was hard to see who caused the contact.
We wait...
PENALTY TO MORROCO
There's a coming together in the box and the referee points to the spot!
The ball is headed clear by the US but again Morocco come back, hurling the ball back into the box.
Nathan Harriel is forced to poke the ball out for a Morocco corner kick. Another chance for Hakimi to deliver...
Brilliant footwork from Ilias Chahkour on the right, jinking past Tolkin and Yow, before his shot is blocked on the edge of the box. The Moroccan wide man looks dangerous.
Mihailovic tries to drop a clever ball over the top for Aaronson but it's a bit overhit, bouncing through to Munir.
Team USA are gradually starting to grow into this game, enjoying a little more of the ball in the Morocco half of the field. The US win a free kick after El Azzouzi is ajdudged to have fouled 40 yards from goal.
It'll be Mihailovic to take...
Kevin Paredes get the chance to take on El Azzouzi on the right. He cuts inside and the ball comes back to Mihailovic, who is penalised for a harsh handball.
Morocco come forward again with Rahimi, bundling his way into the box.
He's repelled but he works the ball back to Abode, who puts in an outrageous rabona cross from the left. It's well claimed by Schulte.
It's Achraf Hakimi who steps up to take it but curls the free kick into the grateful arms of Patrick Schulte. A bit of a waste, that.
Jack McGlynn
That'll be a booking for the Philadelphia midfielder.
USMNT are chasing shadows in the midfield and Jack McGlynn is forced to pull Chahkour down on the edge of the box. Free kick Morocco.
Team USA repel the subsequent corner but give away a free kick on the right flank soon after. Hakimi has another chance to deliver here.
The kick is played to Ilias Chahkour on the edge of the box. His rifled effort is pushed wide by Schulte with a full-length dive. Good move form Morocco.
Morocco force a corner kick after a long spell of the ball. Hakimi will play it short...
The US are playing with a compact eight in front of goalkeeper Schulte, with the front three positioned to break with pace.
Ten minutes in and Morocco are starting to build a bit of confidence on the ball now, racking up the passes in midfield.
Team USA win a free kick on the right win, in a good crossing position.
The ball is curled in towards Zimmerman who wins the ball in the air. His header lands at the feet of Paxten Aaronson but his jabbed effort is off-target.
Paxten Aaronson wins the ball back and looks to drive forward, before being clipped by Hakimi on the halfway line. Clever from the PSG man
Tolkin is back on his feet and Morocco get things started again. They build down the left now, looking to pick a hole in this US defence.
Hakimi's corner kick is underhit and easily cleared. US defender John Tolkin goes down holding his head, bringing the game to a halt.

Incredible noise in Parc des Princes from the Moroccan supporters. There are red shirts wherever you look!
Walker Zimmerman competes with the goalkeeper in the air and gives away a foul. Free kick to Morocco.
Confident start from the US as they work the ball down the right and make space for a cross. Deflected behind for a corner kick.
