Mike Tyson speaks out for the first time since suffering medical emergency mid-flight
Mike Tyson is ready to kick butt after suffering a mid-flight medical emergency this weekend.
“Now feeling 100% even though I don’t need to be to beat Jake Paul,” the professional boxer, 57, wrote on X on Tuesday while referencing his scheduled fight with the YouTube star.
Tyson was on a flight from Miami to Los Angeles when he “became nauseous and dizzy due to an ulcer flare up 30 minutes before landing,” his rep told Page Six on Monday.
The spokesperson added that Tyson was “doing great” after receiving proper medical attention and that “he is appreciative to the medical staff that were there to help him.”
The rep also shut down reports that the medical scare caused a delay before takeoff and attributed the hold-up to an “air conditioning issue on the aircraft.”
Tyson — who retired from boxing in 2005 — was set to return to the ring in a highly publicized fight against Paul next month.
Tyson’s latest update on X confirms the social media star-turned-boxer’s denial that their fight would be canceled over the medical episode.
“You love to make s–t up before knowing the facts for clicks / likes. Nothing changed #PaulTyson,” Paul wrote on X on Monday.
The fight is slated to broadcast live on Netflix from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on July 20.

“It was a no-brainer,” Tyson said during a press conference earlier this month. “He’s the new up-and-coming guy on the scene. I like shaking the sports world to its core, and I’m doing that now. It’s just something I want to do.”
“No one else can do this,” he added. “Who else can shut the sporting world down? No one else can do it.”
Paul, 27, referred to the upcoming match as “quite literally the biggest fight of the 21st century.”
“Because of the fact that it’s Mike Tyson versus me, but also the fact that it’s in 700 million households,” Paul bragged.
The younger brother of Logan Paul said that he thinks Tyson is “underestimating” his abilities and so is “everyone else.”
“I’m a natural-born heavyweight,” Jake said. “I’m gonna show Mike who has more power.”
