Taylor Swift reacts to Simone Biles using ‘Ready For It’ during her floor routine: ‘Watched this so many times’
Taylor Swift may be Simone Biles’ biggest fan.
The Olympic champion gymnast used the singer’s track “Ready For It” for the start of her floor routine during day 2 of the 2024 US Olympic Gymnastics Trials on Friday, and Swift reacted to it on X.
“Watched this so many times and still unready. She’s ready for it tho👏👏👏🥇🇺🇸❤,” the 34-year-old wrote on Saturday after a clip of the full routine was shared by the NBC Olympics & Paralympics.
Biles, 27, started her routine to Swift’s track from her 2017 album, “Reputation,” while doing a triple-double — the “hardest tumbling pass in the world,” according to the video’s commenter. It’s a move Biles previously made history with when she became the first woman to do it during the U.S. Gymnastics Championships in Kansas City, Mo., in 2019.
Biles ended her routine with Travis Scott’s track “Delresto (Echoes),” featuring Beyoncé.
Her overall performance in the event helped her finish in first place during the first half of the women’s qualifying.
Biles suffered a few hiccups during the beam event at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minn., but her routines on the floor, the bars and vault helped her finish the first half of the women’s qualifying in first place.
Meanwhile, Swift has been wowing her own audiences during the European leg of her Eras Tour.
She’s currently prepping for her third show in Dublin, Ireland, later this evening.
On Saturday, the singer told the audience inside Aviva Stadium that her album “Folklore” has a strong connection to Ireland.
“Folklore in general, it just belongs in Ireland,” she explained to the audience after performing “Cardigan.”
“How I imagined the album world looking [was like] Ireland. Storytelling with lots of different characters,” Swift added, referencing her stories in the album.
“You guys have that on lock, too. That’s very Irish, the storytelling.”
Swift recently finished a set of celebrity-packed shows in London, England, which included an onstage cameo from her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
Next, she’ll make her way to Amsterdam, Netherlands, where she’ll perform three separate shows on Thursday, Friday and Saturday before heading to Germany.
