Dundee contested the penalty awarded to Celtic, which led to their second goal, claiming that midfielder Mo Sylla had been fouled in the build-up and that the contact by Antonio Portales on Kyogo Furuhashi was minimal.

Dundee submitted additional footage from an alternative angle to bolster their claim that Sylla’s shirt was pulled prior to the penalty incident.

They also raised concerns about a separate incident where they believed Liam Scales handled the ball from a long throw-in, arguing it should have resulted in a penalty.

However, the review panel upheld referee Hardie’s on-field decisions, concluding unanimously that the penalty awarded to Celtic was correct and that the handball incident involving Scales did not meet the threshold for a penalty, failing to even be worthy of a KMI review. VAR officials Matthew McDermid and Andrew McWilliam were also found to have acted appropriately in their assessments.

It’s good to have this weekly report, which deso instil some transparency in the Game, and allows debates to end pretty quickly.

It’s better than having to wait months and months for common sense to prevail.
