While acknowledging that some view the increases as the price of success, the fan called for more consideration towards those who consistently back the team; a sentiment met with applause from attendees.

Celtic CEO Michael Nicholson responded by outlining the club’s awareness of the issue, stating that iNFLation has outpaced the modest season ticket price increases. He also highlighted that prices for Champions League matches had been frozen, demonstrating the club’s effort to balance revenue generation with affordability for supporters.

Despite these measures, the cost of following Celtic remains a challenge for many fans.

Tickets for the upcoming Champions League clash with Club Brugge are priced at £60, while the three pre-season tour matches in America required fans to pay £50 for access via Celtic TV. The cheapest adult season ticket now starts at £579, up from £559 last season.

While the club has maintained that rising operational costs must be accounted for, there is ongoing tension between financial sustainability and accessibility for fans.

The applause for the supporter’s comments suggests a significant portion of the Celtic fans are eager to see more tangible efforts to ease the burden on those who loyally support the team year-round.
