Miami Dolphins vs. Los Angeles Rams
November 11, 2024 8:15 pm EDT

This Monday night, the NFL presents Draftkings football fans with a matchup featuring the Miami Dolphins and the Los Angeles Rams. Let’s take a look at this NFL game from a DFS perspective.

Before we dive into the Miami Dolphins vs. Los Angeles Rams game let’s review the rules for the Draftkings single game showdown contest.

Draftkings Single Game Showdown Contest Rules

You have $50,000 to utilize on five players from either team. However, one of those players will be designated as your team captain. The captain accumulates 1.5 times the standard fantasy points. Additionally, the captain is 1.5 times the standard cost of the flex position.

The remaining four players in your lineup will receive the standard fantasy points. Having stated that, it is highly important for you to identify the correct player for your captain position if you hope to win a large field DFS GPP (guaranteed prize pool) showdown contest.

If you have additional questions regarding the rules for the single game showdown contest, I recommend that you check out the Draftkings website for more details.

*I recommend that all readers review the starting lineups for both teams prior to setting your DFS lineup for this one Game slate.

Here are my Draftkings picks for this week’s Miami Dolphins vs. Los Angeles Rams matchup.

Draftkings NFL Showdown Picks

Captain-Tua Tagovailoa, Quarterback, Miami Dolphins $9,200

How important has talented quarterback Tua Tagovailoa been to the Miami Dolphins offense this season? Let’s review Tagovailoa relevant player data from the 2024 NFL regular season to answer that question.

In the four games that Tua Tagovailoa has played for the Miami Dolphins in the 2024 NFL regular season, Tagovailoa has compiled 948 passing yards, five passing touchdowns, and 44 rushing yards.

More recently, in the Miami Dolphins 20-17 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars last month, Tua Tagovailoa tallied 338 passing yards, one passing touchdowns, and 44 rushing yards.

Looking closer at the data just presented, in the Miami Dolphins victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars just mentioned, Tagovailoa accumulated an impressive 21.6 Draftkings points. It has to be said, those are the type of fantasy numbers that I need to see from a player that I select for the captain position in a Draftkings NFL Showdown contest.

As I noted in the rules section above, selecting the correct player at the captain position for a Draftkings NFL showdown lineup is absolutely vital if you hope to win a large field GPP (guaranteed prize pool) DFS contest. Keep that in mind as you determine which player to select as your captain for this one Game Draftkings contest.

In my opinion, Tua Tagovailoa is the most likely player to post the most Draftkings points in this NFL regular season game. For that specific reason, I am backing Miami Dolphins starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa at the captain position for this one game Draftkings NFL Showdown contest.

Flex Plays

Tyreek Hill, Miami Dolphins, Wide Receiver $10,000

Unless you have been living under a rock the last five years you are aware that Miami’s Tyreek Hill is a generational talent when it comes to the wide receiver position in the NFL. Having stated that, how has Hill performed from a statistical perspective last week?

In the eight games that Tyreek Hill has played for the Miami Dolphins in the 2024 NFL regular season, Hill accumulated 34 receptions, 446 receiving yards, one receiving touchdown, and 36 rushing yards.

I fully expect Tyreek Hill to continue his outstanding play versus a vulnerable Los Angeles Rams on Monday night.

Additional flex plays I like to perform well (Draftkings price noted): Matthew Stafford, Quarterback (Los Angeles Rams) $8,600: Kyren Williams, Running Back (Los Angeles Rams) $10,8000: De’Von Achane, Running Back (Miami Dolphins) $9,400.
