Draftkings Best Travelers Championship First Round Picks 6/20/24

This Thursday, Draftkings Golf fans will be presented with the first round of the 2024 Travelers Championship. Let’s take a look at the first round of this event from a DFS perspective.

Before I discuss my Draftkings player selections, let’s review where the first round of the 2024 Travelers Championship will be played.

The first round of the 2024 Travelers Championship will be played at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut. The golf course is a par 70 that measures approximately 6,835 yards.

I wanted to emphasize that the purpose of this article is not to provide an exact DFS lineup.

Having stated that, this article will provide multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a DraftKings GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest!

Here are my DraftKings player selections for the first round of the 2024 Travelers Championship.

Draftkings Picks

Xander Schauffele $11,100

Schauffele has accumulated seven top eight finishes in his last eight tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including an impressive win at the 2024 PGA Championship five weeks ago.

In relation to this week’s 2024 Travelers Championship field, in the last 36 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Xander Schauffele ranks fourth in GIR (greens in regulation), fourth in strokes gained approach, third in strokes gained off the tee, fifth in strokes gained putting, second in bogey avoidance, and fourth in birdie or better percentage.

Xander Schauffele also checks the box for me when it comes to previous event history. Since 2017, Schauffele has competed in the Travelers Championship five times. In those five tournaments just noted, Schauffele accumulated four top 20 finishes, including a win at the 2019 Travelers Championship.

Corey Conners $8,800

The talented Canadian has accumulated four top 20 finishes in his last five tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including a sixth-place result at the 2024 RBC Canadian Open two weeks ago.

In relation to this week’s 2024 Travelers Championship field, in the last 36 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Corey Conners ranks third in GIR (greens in regulation), second in strokes gained approach, 14th in proximity to the hole, fifth in strokes gained putting, and third in birdie or better percentage.

Similar to Xander Schauffele, Corey Conners has posted a quality result at TPC River Highlands in the past. Conners finished ninth at the 2023 Travelers Championship.

Brian Harman $8,500

The 2023 Open Champion arrives at this week’s event in rather good form. More specifically, Brian Harman has accumulated four top 24 finishes in his last six tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including a 12th place result at the 2024 RBC Heritage in April.

In relation to this week’s 2024 Travelers Championship field, in the last 50 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Brian Harman ranks 17th in GIR (greens in regulation), tenth in driving accuracy, 15th in strokes gained on par threes, and 18th in strokes gained putting.

It is noteworthy that Brian Harman has played well at the Travelers Championship previously. Harman finished second at the 2023 Travelers Championship.
