Dallas Cowboys play MNF in Simpsons universe: When is the game?

While the Dallas Cowboys sit at 3-4 and have an even more challenging schedule coming up, there is truly not much to look forward to for Cowboys fans this season.

So really any exciting news surrounding the ‘Boys could lift the spirit, no matter how small.

Cowboys to play MNF in Simpsons universe

So news that the Cowboys will play Monday Night Football in The Simpsons universe has been well-received, finally giving us something to smile about.

The NFL has partnered with ESPN and Disney to create a live, animated version of the Cowboys’ Monday Night Football Game against the Cincinnati Bengals on December 9 as part of "The Simpsons Funday Football".

In addition to the normal MNF broadcast and ManningCast, the virtual Game, which will feature Bart on the Bengals' side and Homer on the Cowboys', will be available on ESPN+ and Disney+.

Last year, this concept debuted with “Toy Story Funday Football”, which received three Sports Emmys and set a Disney+ record for peak concurrent viewers of a live event.

Joe Lemire of the Sports Business Journal writes that the Simpsons animated production “will again leverage Sony’s Beyond Sports technology to blend data from the NFL Next Gen Stats sensors and Hawk-Eye optical tracking cameras into the live 3D rendering".

The event will feature Bart and Homer replacing some of the players on the field, Marge and Lisa conducting in-game interviews, Maggie flying the SkyCam, and appearances by other famous Simpsons characters like Krusty, Nelson, Milhouse, and Ralph on the Bengals' side, and Carl, Barney, Lenny, and Moe on the Cowboys' side. There will also be cartoon versions of ESPN analysts like Peyton and Eli Manning and Stephen A. Smith.
