It may not feel like it because of transfers and the recent Champions League draw, but we are on the cusp of another Glasgow derby weekend.

Celtic take on their city rivals Rangers at Parkhead this Sunday as they look to stretch into an early lead in the title race.

The Hoops were a last-minute Rabbi Matondo equaliser away from completing a green and whitewash against their rivals last season, but each of their derby victories were decided by a solitary goal.

The Games were tight affairs, and while Chris Sutton expects that to be the case once more this weekend, he reckons his old team will get over the line in the end.

“Celtic are the clear favourites but you just don’t know in these Games”, he said (Sky Sports).

“I suspect Celtic to edge it.

“As much as I’d like it to be a cricket score, I don’t think it will be.

“I think will be quite a close one.”

Glasgow derbies are never simple affairs, but Brendan Rodgers’ record in them is near-on impeccable.

The boss will look to maintain his almost perfect record against Rangers this weekend.

The action on Sunday kicks off at 12.30pm, and the match is live on Sky Sports.
