Celtic now know who they will take on in the brand new league phase of the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League.

On paper, yesterday’s draw went well for the Bhoys, but some tough ties must be negotiated if they are to make it to the last-16 play-off stage.

Chris Sutton was left enthused by it and equally has Brendan Rodgers.

The Hoops boss is relishing the opportunity to play against eight top-level teams.

“The teams that we’ve got are absolutely fantastic”, he said (Celtic FC on YouTube).

“We’re playing against the Champions League finalists, we’re playing a Europa League winner amongst the other teams.

“It’s so exciting from a manager’s perspective.

“We get the chance to play against the best in Europe and we’ve also got some really exciting cities for the supporters to go to.

“We have to remember it’s the elite level of club Football. Some people will look at some teams and think that’s easy and that’s not the way Football works.”

The Hoops host Club Brugge, RB Leipzig, Slovan Bratislava, and Young Boys at Parkhead while trips to face Borussia Dortmund, Atalanta, Dinamo Zagreb, and Aston Villa lay in wait.

For the past decade, the Celtic supporters have been regularly subjected to European pain but they will be hoping this is the year things change.

The full details of the fixtures and the order in which they will run are due to be released on Saturday morning as excitement builds ahead of another continental campaign.
