Clemson vs Georgia: NCAAF Same Game Parlay | Pickswise

“Week 0” of the 2024 college Football season was headlined by the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, who went to Ireland and upset the Florida State Seminoles. Now it is Tech’s in-state rivals, the Georiga Bulldogs, who are part of a busy Week 1 lineup. Georgia, which has won 2 of the last 3 national titles, will kick off its year against the Clemson Tigers on Saturday afternoon.

Branson Robinson to score a touchdown (-198) 
 
Parlay odds: +565 

Part of the value in a Same Game Parlay, of course, is that all of its components can be correlated if you so choose. At the same time, plays that aren’t correlated drive up the overall payout of the parlay. That is the case here, as backing UGA running back Branson Robinson to score a touchdown obviously goes against Clemson covering the spread in addition to the over cashing. However, even if Robinson finds the endzone there is no reason why the other legs can’t hit. Let’s break down each of the 3 legs. 

Clemson +12.5 (-115) 

The Tigers and Bulldogs are going head-to-head in a season-opening contest for the fourth time dating back to 2013. Georgia has won twice, but just once has it taken care of Business by double-digits and that was at home in Athens. This showdown is at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, where the Dawgs do enjoy playing – but it isn’t Athens. Moreover, when the spread is this big (relatively speaking) you generally have to put up a good chunk of points to cover – even if you have a stout defense. The Bulldogs may not be able to get that done. Their offense lost tight end Brock Browers to the NFL, they have some running back issues and wide receiver Rara Thomas was recently dismissed from the program due to a second arrest. Georgia should win, but give me Clemson plus the points.

Under 48.5 (-110)

The most recent installment of this occasional early-season rivalry came in 2021, when Georgia prevailed by a grand total of 10-3. UGA’s offense is too good to be held in check like that again, but there are still reasons to think this contest will stay under a relatively sizable 48.5 number. These are 2 programs that pride themselves on defense, and the Bulldogs especially have been dominant in that department in recent years. With Beck needing to familiarize himself with lots of new skill-position players on offense, Georgia’s defense will likely be the best unit on the field this weekend. Clemson will almost certainly put up more than the 3 points it managed 3 years ago, but an offensive barrage from the underdogs would be very surprising. The Dawgs started 2023 with 3 consecutive unders and did not allow more than 14 points until Week 4.

Branson Robinson to score a touchdown (-198)

As a backup in 2022, Robinson had 68 carries for 330 yards and 3 touchdowns. That isn’t bad for a freshman on the best team in the nation. There is especially a lot to like about the way that season ended, as Robinson scored 2 touchdowns and finished with 42 yards on 7 carries in a National Championship rout of TCU. The Canton, Miss. native missed all of last year because of a ruptured patella tendon, but he is back in Business now and projects to be Georgia’s lead back – at least for now. Roderick Robinson is sidelined by a toe injury and Trevor Etienne is not expected to be available because of off-the-field issues. With a heavy workload coming his way, Robinson should have no trouble scoring at least 1 touchdown on Saturday.
