Alvyn Sanches to Celtic Update; Deal Unlikely
With Arne Engels and Auston Trusty set to join Celtic, the club remain on the hunt for other potential deadline-day acquisitions.
Midfield is a key area which needs to be strengthened, but it remains to be seen if anyone will come in alongside Engels.
The Hoops had a loan to buy bid booted out for Frenchman Mahamadou Diawara, while their pursuit of Alvyn Sanches has seemingly hit a snag.
Brendan Rodgers was said to be a big admirer of the Swiss youth international, but it doesn’t look like he will come to Glasgow.
Per a report on X from Sky Sports’ Anthony Joseph, Celtic were in discussions to sign Sanches, but a deal is now off the cards.
This is backed up by Charlie Gordon of the Daily Express, who reports that the Scottish champions had a £2.5m bid rejected by Lausanne for the 21-year-old.
It is said that Sanches is likely to leave his club before the transfer window so there is still potential for something to happen but as we speak, a Celtic move for the midfielder seems unlikely.
