This evening’s UEFA Champions League draw will provide Celtic fans with a welcomed distraction from the drama of the transfer market.

Less than 48 hours remain in the window and the Hoops still need several additions of quality.

Whether the club get the required bodies in the door will have a knock-on effect on their progress on the European stage.

For the past decade, the Hoops have faltered whether it be in the Champions League or Europa League. This year, Brendan Rodgers wants to change that.

He will watch on with excitement later today as his side finds out their eight opponents for the newly formatted Champions League.

The Bhoys will face off against eight different sides, four at home and four away, in one massive 36-team league table. Alistair Johnston thinks it is an ‘unbelievable opportunity’ for the Scottish champions.

Now that all the qualifiers have taken place, the pots for the draw have been confirmed:

The Scottish champions will play two teams from each pot, including their own.

There is the potential for a few horror draws, but equally, the Bhoys could get one which falls kindly in their favour.

They will just have to wait and discover their fate later tonight when all is revealed.
