Celtic Duo Posted Missing From Friday Training

The American duo, key figures in Celtic’s backline, were crucial in the team’s 3-1 Champions League victory over RB Leipzig but have raised concerns with their notable absences during preparations.
Trusty appeared to pick up an ankle knock during the first half against Leipzig but carried on and finished the match, while Carter-Vickers, who recently returned from a toe injury, was substituted 15 minutes before full-time for Liam Scales.
Their potential unavailability could pose a challenge for manager Brendan Rodgers, who may have to consider alternatives to maintain defensive stability.
Options for Rodgers include increased responsibilities for Liam Scales or a possible rare start for Maik Nawrocki, who has yet to feature prominently this season. Stephen Welsh could also be a candidate to step in, offering a tried and tested domestic option.
However, it’s not uncommon for Rodgers to rest key players on the final training day, particularly those managing fitness post-injury or with heavy match loads. The absence of Carter-Vickers and Trusty could simply be a precautionary measure, with more clarity expected during Rodgers’ pre-match press conference this afternoon.
