Benfica’s Wednesday Night Bernardo Post
Celtic supporters have already seen some significant moves this week, with the club signing a goalkeeper from Aston Villa. Adding to the excitement, Kasper Schmeichel is also expected to join soon. However, the work doesn’t stop there.
Reports from Portugal in the last 24 hours suggest that Bernardo is set to join Celtic on a permanent deal after his loan spell last season. Despite these reports, Benfica included the midfielder in training photos, fully geared up for the new season. This has left fans wondering about the delay and why the Portuguese midfielder hasn’t yet flown out to join Celtic in the USA.
Bernardo played a crucial role in some of Celtic’s biggest matches last season. Notably, he was instrumental in the Scottish Cup final, where his shot led to a mistake by Jack Butland, allowing Adam Idah to score the winning goal against Rangers. This moment solidified his place in the hearts of the fans, who are eager to see him back in the squad as soon as possible.
If Bernardo does join Celtic in the USA, it will be his second trip to the States this summer. He recently Travelled from the East Coast to the West Coast with his partner, including a visit to the New York Celtic Supporters Club. The fans are looking forward to welcoming him back and seeing him don the Hoops once more, if Celtic can finally get the deal over the line.
