Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon Announced At The Game Awards
Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon has just been announced at The Game Awards. This game promises to reveal the mysterious origins of Bayonetta, telling the tale of her journey to become a powerful, demon-wielding witch.
The trailer shown at The Game Awards revealed a third-person action-adventure Game with a storybook art style. Set when Bayonetta was still just Cereza, the Game has the young pre-witch journey through an enchanted forest to rescue her mother. During her journey, she'll befriend demons that offer their assistance in her quest.
Bayonetta's origins have only been lightly touched throughout the franchise. Born of the Lumen Sage Balder and the Umbra Witch Rosa, Cereza's mere existence caused the Clan Wars between the rival factions. Cereza was considered an outcast throughout her childhood--something that will presumably be expanded upon in Bayonetta Origins.
The change in genre is appropriate to Cereza's age, although we saw little actual Gameplay in the trailer. We'll have to wait for Nintendo to offer more between now and March 17, 2023, when Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon launches on the Nintendo Switch.
