Barcelona possible starting lineup against Sevilla in LaLiga
After the international break, Barcelona return to LaLiga aiming to secure another win and strengthen their lead in the competition ahead of the Clásico at the Santiago Bernabéu.
They will host Sevilla at the Lluís Companys Stadium (3:00 p.m. ET/12 noon PT.) where they will face an old acquaintance, García Pimienta. The team is boosted by the return of key players, as the Blaugrana injury list begins to clear.
Hansi Flick has confirmed that Gavi, Dani Olmo, and Fermin will be fit for the match. While Gavi and Olmo will start on the bench, Fermin could make the starting lineup.
The German coach also confirmed that Iñaki Peña will remain the starting goalkeeper, though he expressed optimism about Szczesny’s return to fitness. With important upcoming fixtures against Bayern Munich in the Champions League and Real Madrid in La Liga, some rotations are expected, particularly in the attacking line.

Iñaki Peña, who has done nothing to warrant being substituted, will remain in goal. In defense, Flick is expected to stick with his most-used lineup this season, featuring Koundé and Balde on the flanks, with Cubarsí and Iñigo Martínez as the central pairing. In midfield, Casadó will partner with Pedri to handle both defensive and creative duties.
On the right wing, Lamine Yamal is likely to start, having been rested during the national team’s match against Serbia due to a minor hamstring strain. Raphinha and Fermín are vying for the other two midfield spots, with Raphinha expected to play on the left and Fermín positioned behind Lewandowski, the lone striker.
Gavi, returning after an 11-month absence, and Dani Olmo, who was in top form before his injury against Girona, could feature in the second half. Ansu Fati and Pau Víctor are also potential attacking substitutes for the match against Sevilla.
The LaLiga matchday-10 game between Barça and Sevilla will be played at the Olympic Stadium in Montjuic (Barcelona), on Sunday 20 October, 2024. Kick-off is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. ET/12 noon PT.
