Celtic have been linked to various players over the course of the last few weeks as Brendan Rodgers looks to bolster his squad for next season.

Clearly, a goalkeeper is a priority but that hasn’t stopped Celtic being linked to the likes of Flavius Daniliuc or Dundee midfielder, Luke McCowan.

It seems that with millions of pounds at his disposal, Brendan Rodgers has been getting linked to players from all positions as the transfer speculation ramps up.

Another player who has been rumoured to be of interest to Rodgers is Bristol City striker, Tommy Conway.

And what his teaMMAte has just said about the young striker should excite the Celtic fans.

‘Explosive’ Conway backed to score at Euro 2024

There is a huge difference between being able to score in the Championship in England to doing it at international level at a big tournament like Euro 2024 with Scotland.

But that is exactly what Conway’s teammate, Kal Naismith expects him to do if he gets his chance given to him by Steve Clarke.

Naismith said [Daily Record], “As a player, Tommy has loads of potential. But for such a young lad he plays with an experienced head on his shoulders.

“He’s clever in his link-up play but his biggest attribute is his finishing. He’s deadly. Left or right foot, he’s explosive.

“And he’s good in the air too. If he gets a chance in Germany, even just a sniff, I would back him to score. Getting thrown off the bench at the Euros won’t faze Tommy.

“He’ll be nervous – anyone would on that stage – but he will relish it as well. He’ll fancy himself to score in every Game because he has that arrogance.”

Two-footed with blistering pace, aerial ability and the self-belief to back himself at the highest level is the type of striker Celtic needs.

The 21-year-old has scored 25 goals in 92 appearances for Bristol City over the course of his career. With the attributes that he has and the number of chances Celtic create who knows what he could do if he ever made the Parkhead switch.

And at such a young age, Conway’s best years are still way ahead of him as is his international career. This young striker could be an exciting addition to the Celtic squad and with his keen eye for goal, Conway could be prolific in a Rodgers-like team.
