The Celtic fans have been left frustrated with the club’s transfer Business over the past couple of windows.

Continually bringing in development players, whilst clearly bringing a financial benefit, needs to be balanced out by bringing in experience and proven quality.

Brendan Rodgers also expressed his frustration on numerous occasions last season when Celtic’s Champions League exit was bemoaned by the fact last summer’s transfer window was a failure as the club failed to bring in the required quality to comPete at that level.

Well, it seems now that could all be about to change after a report by Football Scotland indicated that Celtic is shifting their transfer policy this summer and it will please the Hoops support.

Celtic’s search for players with an ‘established reputation’

Obviously Celtic won’t abandon their policy of buying young talent to develop and then sell them off for a healthy profit.

By all accounts the club is set to benefit this summer should Matt O’Riley move on but it does seem that there is going to be a shift in this window according to the report.

The report states, “Football Scotland can also reveal that the club are looking to find signings that come with a more established reputation this summer.

“Rodgers and his recruitment staff have been accused in recent times of bringing too many project players to Glasgow but sources have told Football Scotland that experienced players are being targeted ahead of untested youngsters.”

This will be a welcome piece of news for the Parkhead support who have witnessed first-hand this season how players like Hyunjun Yang and Gustaf Lagerbielke have struggled to cope with the demands of playing for Celtic.

Of course, if Celtic do apply this approach then it will cost money. And the bonus for the Celtic fans is that with the Champions League cash coming the club’s way, there is now no excuse for Celtic to not get the type of player they want and need.
