Who should I start in Fantasy Football? NFL Week 10 roster recommendations by position
Heading into Week 10 of the NFL season means we‘re halfway through the regular season, but have only five (maybe six) games left in the fantasy season. It‘s crunch time for many of you.
But before we dive into who to start in Week 10, let’s take a look at the teams on bye week plus some significant injuries to consider.
Teams on bye in Week 10:
Significant injuries heading into Week 10:
*Also keep an eye on Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb, Ravens RB Keaton Mitchell, Niners RB Christian McCaffrey, and Seahawks WR DK Metcalf
NFL Fantasy Football Week 10: recommended starters
Quarterbacks:
Kirk Cousins, Atlanta Falcons @ New Orleans Saints: Cousins is on a hot streak, having thrown seven touchdowns in his last two games for a total of 46.4 fantasy points. He has an extremely favorable matchup against the depleted Saints defense, which has allowed an average of 18+ points per game to QBs in the last four weeks.
Sam Darnold, Minnesota Vikings @ Jacksonville Jaguars: Last week, Darnold had a 19-point performance and this week, he could do it again with a favorable matchup against the Jaguars defense which has given up the most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks. Plus, Darnold just got another weapon back in tight end T.J. Hockenson.
Jared Goff, Detroit Lions @ HoustonTexans: Goff has been on a decline in fantasy lately but could see things turn around this week against a Texans defense that struggles to stop the pass and just allowed 20.3 points to Aaron Rodgers last week, 16+ points to five QBs, and 20+ points to three QBs.
Running Backs:
J.K. Dobbins, Los Angeles Chargers vs Tennessee Titans: Dobbins is a start this week based on the fact that he’s going against a Titans defense that has given up multiple touchdowns to opposing RBs in the last three straight games and allowed 20+ points to RBs in their last two. Oh, and Dobbins went off on the Browns last week for 85 yards and two touchdowns and has scored in three of the Chargers’ last four games.
Rhamondre Stevenson, New England Patriots @ Chicago Bears: Stevenson has put up four touchdowns and 45.9 fantasy points over the last two weeks and has a favorable matchup against the Bears defense which allowed six runners to beat them for at least 14.9 fantasy points this season.
Chuba Hubbard, Carolina Panthers vs New York Giants (in Germany): Despite the fact that Jonathon Brooks is set to be back this week, he’ll likely still split the load with Hubbard, who has been on a hot streak lately. The Panthers face a vulnerable Giants defense in Germany in Week 10.
Wide Receivers:
Deebo Samuel, San Francisco 49ers @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Samuel should be back from injury when the Niners take on the Bucs this week and should see plenty of targets from QB Brock Purdy. Tampa Bay’s defense has allowed the sixth-most fantasy PPG to perimeter receivers.
Brian Thomas Jr., Jacksonville Jaguars vs Minnesota Vikings: Thomas didn’t have a great week last week, but he was playing through an illness and should be back to form this week. Despite last week’s performance, he’s put up 15+ points in four of his last five Games and faces a Vikings defense giving up the most points per Game to WRs and second-most to outside receivers.
Tyreek Hill, Miami Dolphins @ Los Angeles Rams: Hill hasn’t been his usual Game-changing self this season even since Tua Tagovailoa’s return, but that could change this week as he faces a Rams defense that’s given up at least 20 non-PPR points to WRs in the last two weeks.
Tight Ends:
Jake Ferguson, Dallas Cowboys vs Philadelphia Eagles: The Eagles defense is not a favorable matchup for TEs, but with CeeDee Lamb dealing with a shoulder issue and Cooper Rush’s targets limited, Ferguson could be looking at lots more opportunities this week. Last week he put up 14.1 points.
Dalton Kincaid, Buffalo Bills @ Indianapolis Colts: Kincaid has seen an increase in targets lately (at least six in the last six games and 10 last week) and will be up against a Colts defense that allowed four TEs to put up 16+ points and two 20+. Even with Amari Cooper potentially back this week, the matchup makes Kincaid a start.
Taysom Hill, New Orleans Saints vs Atlanta Falcons: The Saints don’t have a lot of options at receiver besides Hill, so expect his targets to go up with a favorable game against the Falcons who have given up the eighth-most fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends this season.
