Coco Gauff headlines the US’s involvement at Wimbledon today, with a number of Americans in opening-day action at the All England Club.

Which Americans are in action in the women’s singles today?

Gauff, who is the No. 2 seed in the women’s singles tournament, faces compatriot Carolina Dolehide in the day’s final first-round match on Centre Court. The 20-year-old, who reached the semi-finals at both the Australian Open and the French Open earlier this year, is bidding to progress beyond the fourth round at Wimbledon for the first time in her career.

No. 12 seed Madison Keys opens up her campaign against Italy’s Martina Trevisan on No. 3 Court, and 19th seed Emma Navarro takes on China’s Wang Qiang on Court 16.

Of the unseeded US players in the women’s draw, Emina Bektas comes up against the biggest-name opposition. Bektas, 31, has been handed an opening-round match-up with No. 3 seed Aryna Sabalenka on No. 1 Court. American interest on day one of the women’s singles is rounded off by run-outs for Sloane Stephens, McCartney Kessler, Peyton Stearns and Taylor Townsend.

Which US players are on today’s men’s singles schedule?

In the men’s singles, Tommy Paul and Ben Shelton are the US’s most notable participants today. Seeded 12th in London, Paul meets Spain’s Pedro Martínez on No. 3 Court. Meanwhile, 14th seed Shelton kicks off his campaign with a clash against Italy’s Mattia Bellucci on Court 18.

Paul, who was the men’s singles champion at Queen’s Club last month, has never been beyond the fourth round at Wimbledon. Shelton’s best performance so far at the tournament was a second-round finish last year.

The other US men’s seed scheduled to play today is Frances Tiafoe, who also faces Italian opposition. The 26-year-old, who is seeded 29th at Wimbledon, meets Matteo Arnaldi on Court 15. Among the unseeded Americans in the draw in the UK capital, Aleksander Kovacevic has the stand-out fixture today: he goes up against No. 5 seed Daniil Medvedev on No. 1 Court. Californians Alex Michelsen and Brandon Nakashima are also in action.
