WHEN YOU’RE YOUNG AND IN LOVE – The Marvelettes
“When You’re Younger and in Love” is a tune composed by Van McCoy which first turned a High 40 hit single for the Marvelettes in 1967: a remake by the Flying Pickets would attain the UK High Ten in 1984.
The tune was lined in 1967 by the Marvelettes with the monitor – produced by James Dean and William Weatherspoon – reaching #23 on the Scorching 100 that June; its R&B peak was #9. Though not one of many Marvelettes’ very largest US hits, “When You’re Younger and in Love” turned the one document by the group to attain hit standing within the UK with a #13 peak in July 1967.
