Martin stopped the only shot he saw in the 2 minutes he played in overtime Saturday but succumbed in the shootout. He has been hit-or-miss, with 5, 0 and 4 goals allowed in his 3 starts thus far. I love the STARS +105 here. True, they’re not as good on the road, but Carolina is reeling without its top two goalies. Oettinger tips the scales for me in this one. The Stars beat it both times last season, and they won 4 of 6, with the 2 losses coming in OT.
Puck line/Against the spread
I love JAKE OETTINGER UNDER 2.5 GOALS AGAINST (+125) here. He hasn’t allowed 3 goals since Nov. 1, which spans 7 starts. He allowed 3 goals total to the Canes in 2 starts last year.
Over/Under
Both teams are 4-5-1 O/U in the last 10, and the Over has cashed just 4 times in the last 10 meetings. This one can go either way because of the third-string goalie starting for Carolina.
However, I see the UNDER 6.5 (-110) connecting. But this is by far the pick I have the least amount of confidence in.
