What to know about ESPN’s agreement with Peyton Manning’s Monday Night Football Show?
In an announcement that is sure to make football fans happy, the sports network did indeed confirm that it has agreed to a long-term extension with the brothers as it looks to continue broadcasting the Monday Night Football simulcast that is hosted by them.
ESPN extends Manningcast for 9 years
According to an announcement from the network on Wednesday, ESPN has agreed to a nine-year extension through 2034 with Peyton Manning’s company, Omaha Productions, to continue the former NFL quarterback’s various shows across platforms. That of course pertains to the most popular of them, the Mannincast, which is the NFL’s Monday Night Football simulcast and has been hosted by Manning and his brother Eli since 2021.
The Manningcast has of course been the prime source of information and analysis for football fans in the last three seasons, covering 10 Monday night games in 2021 and 2022, 11 in 2023, and even a Wild-Card Round clash between the Philadelphia Eagles and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. With their intimate takes on the game that they both played and excelled at for years, it’s hard not to like the brothers’ approach to interviews with a wide range of guests from both the sporting and entertainment worlds.
Now, while there has been no official word as to the financial details of the nine-year media-rights extension, which will run into 2034, we do know that the deal will see the continuation of the Emmy award-winning show and its varied content. What’s more is that the agreement will also see the maintenance of the Manning brothers’ personal shows on ESPN+ i.e., ‘Peyton’s Places’ and ‘Eli’s Places’. As you will likely know, Peyton’s show centers on NFL history and culture, while his brother Eli’s places the focus on the same topics but in the college football environment.
