Unexpected NBA Title Contender Declares Interest In Jimmy Butler Trade

Jimmy Butler isn’t a free agent this summer, but he is certainly garnering interest like one.

Following a disappointing run with the Miami Heat this past season, rumors have been swirling regarding a potential trade.

It has gotten to the point where the noise is difficult to ignore.

If Butler does leave Miami, at least one NBA title contender might have interest in acquiring his services.

According to Anthony Slater of The Athletic, the Golden State Warriors are a team to watch for Butler.

“If the Heat shop Jimmy Butler, I would expect the Warriors to enter the conversation to at least some degree,” he wrote.

Earlier this summer, a Heat insider indicated that Butler getting moved was all but a foregone conclusion.

“I expect Jimmy Butler to get traded this summer,” Wes Goldberg said at the time.

Butler’s fit with the Warriors would be an interesting one. He doesn’t necessarily fix the team’s biggest holes, but he could provide some nice defensive support if Klay Thompson departs.

Obviously he also brings a lot to the table offensively – but Golden State has a ton of talented offensive pieces. Defense and toughness is where Butler would really thrive in The Bay.

Will Butler ultimately end up with the Warriors when everything is and done? Time will tell.
