Luka Doncic Gets Brutally Honest About Kristaps Porzingis Beef

Kristaps Porzingis was one of the Boston Celtics’ key players in their Game 1 NBA Finals victory over the Dallas Mavericks.

Given his history with Luka Doncic, and the pair’s beef, his superstar-level performance left quite the impression.

This week Doncic was asked about why his team-up with Porzingis in Dallas ultimately failed.

“I don’t really know,” Doncic remarked of why their partnership didn’t work out.

“I don’t know why it didn’t work out. We were still both young. We tried to make it work, but it just didn’t work, so we moved on.”

What is funny about that comment is that Doncic is only 25 years old now. So he is lamenting about his younger days, but that was only like two years ago.

Porzingis, for his part, said something similar a while ago about why he and Doncic just couldn’t make it work.

“On paper, it would be the perfect fit, but it just didn’t mesh the way that we wanted to,” Porzingis said. “We just did not mesh together well. Sometimes it’s like that in the workplace, you know? It just didn’t work out the way you expected.”

Despite that, Porzingis didn’t take anything away from his former teammate.

“Luka is a generational talent,” Porzingis continued. “You have to put the perfect team around him to try to get the maximum out of him, you know? I just wasn’t the right guy.”

Who between Porzingis and Doncic will ultimately walk away an NBA champion this year? Time will tell.
