Tony Roper Spotted Filming at Celtic Park
It looks like Celtic’s Christmas advert is in the works, with a familiar face on set.
Fans at Celtic Park on Wednesday night spotted Tony Roper, best known for his role as Jamesie Cotter in Rab C. Nesbitt, sporting pyjama bottoms and this season’s home shirt at the corner flag before Celtic’s clash with Dundee.
Roper’s appearance has fuelled speculation that he’s playing a part in this year’s festive production, which is always a hit with Celtic fans.
Anyone know what Jamesie Cotter was up to last night just before kickoff? I always use to see him standing outside the main stand on a match day with his pals, all you could hear was…. “Alright Jamesie” and Tony acknowledged every supporter that said hello, a true Celtic man💚 pic.twitter.com/QaaEIdZ8lB

A lifelong Celtic supporter, Roper is no stranger to contributing to the club’s media projects. He previously narrated The Treble VHS/DVD, celebrating Celtic’s 2000–01 treble-winning season, as well as Hoops We Did It Again for the 2001–02 campaign. He also wrote and directed The Celts in Seville, a play that commemorated Celtic’s UEFA Cup Final journey in 2003, which enjoyed successful runs at Glasgow’s Pavilion Theatre in 2008 and 2014.
As we head into November, it won’t be long until the Christmas advert is released.
It might be a little premature to get in the Christmas spirit just now, but Celtic, as you’d expect, are working away to get the Christmas ad up to the quality fans expect.
There have been some belters over the years. Hopefully, this year’s will so be a good watch.
