The stopper has had little to do in his first three comPetitive Games for the Hoops, keeping two clean sheets along the way.

On a free transfer, signing the 37-year-old looks to have been a shrewd piece of Business by Celtic.

It was always going to be difficult replacing fan-favourite Joe Hart but Schmeichel appears up to the task.

The Denmark captain turned down a return to the English Premier League to join Celtic and recently revealed what he loves about the club already.

“Perhaps the coolest thing has been the winning mentality in Celtic”, he said (Tipsbladet).

“The biggest point is that we must maintain the hunger to win again and again and again – and I feel that hunger, seriousness and ambition every single day.

“The club’s mindset permeates everything: We have to win the next Game – and the next trophy.”

Schmeichel already understands the elite standards at Celtic.

He has played at the top level throughout his career, but his current club is where he will experience the greatest expectations.

The former Leicester man has only ever won four trophies throughout his career but will look to change that during his period north of the border.
