This is the latest update on the performance of 'Kalki 2898 AD' at the local box office, as it has achieved its long-awaited goal. The movie starring Prabhas has outperformed 'Jawan' to claim the fourth spot as the highest-earning Indian film ever in the country's box office.



Nag Ashwin directed the Science-fiction drama which grossed Rs 640.6 crore nett in 40 days, while the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer made Rs 640.25 crore nett during its entire run in India. In terms of domestic box office earnings, 'Kalki 2898 AD' has outperformed 'Jawan' in 2024 as the highest-grossing Indian film, but Prabhas's 'Baahubali 2' still holds the record for his career with a lifetime collection of Rs 1030.42 crore. 'Kalki 2898 AD' was further surpassed by 'KGF 2' and 'RRR', sealing its fate as a box office disappointment. The movie is still being shown in cinemas, even after six weeks of being released. Nevertheless, there are no expectations for it to break a new record anymore. The Hindi adaptation of the movie has outperformed the Telugu adaptation by making approximately Rs 350 crore in gross earnings and Rs 290 crore in net earnings. According to the trade website Sacnilk, the Telugu adaptation has earned approximately Rs 335 crore, while the Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada adaptations have grossed around Rs 75 crore each. The theatrical run of 'Kalki 2898 AD' has come to an end. Once the film is available online, it is anticipated to break OTT viewing records. Several reports have indicated that it will be accessible.
