Retro Celtic represented as The Rock poses with Bhoys fans who helped him get ready for Wrestlemania 40
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has been an icon of wrestling and Entertainment for close to 30 years and 2024 has been one of his most high-profile to date.
His ‘Final Boss’ persona has been garnering rave reviews since his return to the WWE at the start of the year.
The Rock headlined night one of the global extravaganza Wrestlemania 40 earlier this month, teaming up with Roman Reigns to face Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins.
He also had a starring role in the main event of night two, interrupting John Cena’s help for Rhodes before being chokeslammed by The Undertaker in a big, crowd-pleasing crescendo that crowned Rhodes as the company’s new champion.
What you may not know is that a couple of Celtic fans helped The Rock prepare for the big event.
The Rock trained with big Celtic fans prior to Wrestlemania
Wrestling brothers Joe and Marcus Coffey, who are part of WWE’s NXT brand, were reported by ESPN to be part of The Rock’s training camp in the build-up to the big event.
Joe has now taken to social media site X to show that off with a picture from those sessions, wearing a brilliant 1990s Celtic away top.
Given The Rock had not wrestled for so many years, training with a trio of talented performers to get his timing and fitness to the right levels was imperative before his huge tag-team match.
Coffey isn’t one who has ever hidden his love for Celtic. Before a big NXT title match in 2019 he proudly showed off his Bhoys credentials. [X]
It’s class to see that on display again in a photo that is already going viral. Fans of the Scottish champions with the people’s champion. Not bad!
