The announcement of the post-split fixtures yesterday was met with a hint of excitement by the Celtic fans.

We told you yesterday how the SFPL was waiting till the conclusion of Rangers’ Game-in-hand against Dundee tonight before they made the announcement.

However, the governing body took us all by surprise and made the announcement of the fixtures yesterday afternoon with the Celtic fans looking at who they will play first as they bid to win the title.

Celtic face Dundee (A) first with Hearts (H), Rangers (H) and Kilmarnock (A) with St Mirren away to hopefully finish off a successful league campaign which will see the SPFL trophy remain in the Parkhead trophy cabinet.

Tam McManus predicts Celtic’s post-split points haul

Tam McManus was commenting on the title race after he watched Celtic defeat St Mirren and Rangers blow it at Ross County and said he won’t have his mind changed on his prediction of how many points he believes Brendan Rodgers‘ side will pick up from now until the end of the season.

McManus said [PLZ Soccer], “I think they’ll probably think [the Celtic fans] Rangers have blown it. I think there will still be twists and turns.

“But I just think that Celtic have got the bit between the teeth.

“And I said on the show on Friday that I fancied Celtic to win every Game between now and the end of the season and I won’t change my mind on that.”

I don’t think the Celtic fans will be quite as presumptuous because going to Kilmarnock has proven tricky this season as well as facing Hearts.

However, the big difference maker here is that Rodgers has almost a full quota of players to choose from. Reo Hatate, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Callum McGregor will all be fit and available for these fixtures.

We also have free-scoring Adam Idah as backup to the on-form Kyogo Furuhashi as well. Matt O’Riley also looks back to his best recently.

So whilst no one at Celtic will get carried away, our chances of winning all the remaining five fixtures have taken a boost with the majority of our top players back from injury and back to their best.
