‘Power’ star Micheal Rainey Jr. says he’s ‘still in shock’ after he was allegedly groped by streamer’s sister during livestream
Micheal Rainey Jr. said he is “still in shock” after streamer Tylil James’ sister allegedly sexually assaulted him during a livestream.
“At this point, everyone has seen the video circulating online,” the “Power Book II: Ghost” actor, 23, wrote on his Instagram Stories Monday.
“I am still in shock and don’t fully know how to process what happened last night. This is an unfortunate situation that I do not condone in any way.”
Rainey said he can’t take the incident “lightly” because he “would be in serious trouble if the roles were reversed.”
He added, “The fact is, sexual assault is never okay, regardless of gender or status. We’re all human, and we should respect each other.
“Most importantly, we should always respect ourselves.”
Rainey’s statement comes hours after a video of him being allegedly groped by James’ sister surfaced online.
In the clip, James — a podcaster who is the creator and host of the independent Twitch channel “The Tylil Show” — was joined by Rainey and a few other people in a small room as they kicked off the livestream.
Shortly after going live, James’ sister, Jahgee, can be seen getting grabby with the “Amateur” actor, who looked shocked by what happened.
After the alleged groping took place, Rainey and his friends abruptly left the streamer’s home.
James initially tried to excuse Jahgee’s behavior, saying that she wasn’t used to being “around celebrities” like he was.
“She never seen somebody that caliber so she started … You see what I’m saying?” he said on Twitch.
“And that’s my sister so I’m not gonna say nothing bad about her. I’ma just check her.”
The streamer later condemned his sister’s actions and apologized to Rainey for what occurred.
“After the actions that occurred during my stream last night I would like to sincerely apologize to Michael and his family for what took place,” he wrote on X Monday.
“My little sister was completely wrong and out of line. What she did was very inappropriate and unacceptable. I am truly embarrassed and disgusted by her actions.”
James said he would “completely respect” whatever decision the “Barbershop: The Next Cut” star will take regarding the incident and has “banned” his sister from participating in any of his future streams.
Page Six has reached out to Rainey to see if legal action will be taken but we did not immediately hear back.
