While rumors are not to be taken seriously, there are a number of circumstances in play that make the Bulls and their star ripe for a move in the market. The question is where and for what?

The Sacramento Kings look like a match for Zach LaVine

When considering the recent trade rumors about Chicago Bulls guard Zach LaVine, one has to consider three things. Firstly, there is the fact that LaVine has two remaining seasons on his contract and a player option for a third. Then, there is the idea that we’ve seen LaVine’s name mentioned in relation to trades several times before. Lastly, we’ve got the context, which is to say the Bulls fired shots on Thursday when they traded Alex Caruso to the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for 21-year-old guard Josh Giddey.

With that, one can’t deny the real possibility that LaVine could be on the move this offseason. Should that be the case, one report on Friday suggests there may already be a team in waiting. According to Yahoo Sports, the Sacramento Kings are the most likely landing spot for LaVine if he is traded this offseason. It’s also understood that the Philadelphia 76ers have expressed interest, but with Daryl Morey’s front office weighing its options, there’s nothing concrete.

As for LaVine, the 29-year-old was only able to play in 25 Games last season due to the fact that he underwent foot surgery. Regardless, there is no doubt as to what he can do when he’s Healthy. Should he make his way to Sacramento, there would be all kinds of possibilities with the likes of Domantas Sabonis and De’Aaron Fox, not to mention Sixth Man of the Year runner-up Malik Monk who was signed to a four-year deal on Thursday.

We also know - as per the report - that the Kings are “active” in exploring trade opportunities for Kevin Huerter and Harrison Barnes. They also hold the No. 13 and No. 45 picks in the upcoming NBA draft that could be used in a potential deal. This is all to say, keep an eye on this one.
