Mental Health Month produces MHARI legislative priorities as session winds down, elections ahead

The legislative session is winding down with less than a month to go before it ends. A few days ago, the recognition of Mental Health Month also came to an end. The Mental Health Association of Rhode Island compiled a list of sponsors to promote its messages of importance for the year, and legislation it sought to see passed.

As the MHARI notes, “It’s an election year, and General Assembly members are expected to begin campaigning early this summer. MHARI and other mental Health advocates have been tracking and testifying on mental Health legislation covering a variety of issues – from access to prescription medications to state funding for the 988 Crisis Prevention Line and a mental Health curriculum in schools.”
